
John V. Stock
Principal
John joined Barney & Barney in 1980, and has been a Principal in the firm's Commercial Division since 1986. With over thirty years of experience tailoring insurance programs for complex large and middle market businesses, John has a broad risk management and Property & Casualty insurance background. He has had extensive experience working with law firms, educational institutions, non-profits, manufacturers, and in the construction and real estate space. Prior to joining Barney & Barney, John held a number of different positions in the Marketing division of Xerox Corporation.
John currently serves on the board of That Man May See, in connection with the University of California San Francisico's Department of Ophthalmology, and the San Francisco Grid Club, in association with the University of California, Berkeley. He has chaired the Piedmont Recreation Commission, been Commissioner of the Bay Oaks Soccer Club, and served on numerous other community boards, including those of The College Preparatory School and Bentley School.
John earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He holds the professional designation of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
